Destiny Arts Center Summer Programs 2008
Destiny Summer programs offer concentrated training in dance, martial arts, violence-prevention for youth between the ages of 7 and 18. Click on the programs below for more information! All programs and events are held at Destiny Arts Center.
There are partial and full sholarships available in all programs.

Camp Destiny

A blast of movement and color, creating a culture of peace!

Day Camp for Ages 7-12:

dance, martial arts, self-defense, conflict resolution, outdoor fun, and arts and crafts.

Five one-week sessions (9:00am-5:00pm)

Session 1 July 07- July 11
Session 2 July 14- Aug 18
Session 3 July 21- July 25
Session 4 July 28- Aug 01
Session 5 Aug 04- Aug 08
Session 6 Aug 11- Aug 15

Fees:
$250 per week
$125 for each additional child

Camp Destiny gives students in-depth experience of Destiny's curriculum, values, and skill building. The all-day camp promotes a strong sense of self and community, while offering youth the experience of working together to create a culture of peace.

Each one-week session offers training in dance, martial arts, self-defense, and conflict resolution as well as fun arts and crafts activities. All of the projects emphasize fun, adventure and challenge for all levels Each week culminates in a performance for friends and family.

Martial Arts Intensives

Ongoing Martial Arts Instructors: Sifu Anthony Daniels and Sensei Antonio Castro
June 23rd - August 20th (9 weeks)
Monday & Wednesdays
5:00 to 7:00 pm

Fee for entire 9 weeks:
$125 first child- $90 for each aditional child - $15 per class drop-in rate

Martial Arts students are given rigorous training in various styles from experienced instructors with high-level black belts. They practice forms and sparring in an enviornment of respect and reverence for the values of nonviolence

Teddy Bear Martial Arts
Instructor: Sifu Michele Elefante
Tuesday, June 24th – Thursday, August 21st (9 weeks)
Tuesdays & Thursdays
4:30-5:30pm

Fee for entire 9 weeks:
$100 first child - $75 each additional child

Teddy Bear martial arts classes give our young ones age-appropriate training in Destiny’s Five Fingers of Violence Prevention curriculum that includes awareness skills, exercises to strengthen physical and verbal responses to challenges and basic self-defense and safety skills, taught through games, roles plays and basic martial arts techniques.

Dance

ONGOING TEEEN HIP HOP DANCE CLASSES
Instructor: Damie Nazapas
June 23rd - August 20th (9 weeks)
Monday & Wednesdays
5:00 to 6:30 pm

Hip Hop classes will include fun, high-energy hip-hop warm ups, and exciting, up-to-date dance combinations. Come ready to move to the latest music and get a great work out!

Fee: $125 for 9 week session; $90 each additional child
